Step 3

Learn at Your Pace

This is where Gopsco Education is fundamentally different. We pioneered competency-based learning that questions traditional education models. You don't sit through lectures at set times. You learn by doing, and you advance by proving you can do the work.

Competency-Based Learning

Traditional Colleges

  • Attend lectures at scheduled times
  • Complete assignments by due dates

  • Earn grades: A, B, C, D, F
  • Must complete 120 credit hours (≈4 years)

  • Graduate when you've proven all competencies

Support When You Need It

Stuck? Ask questions in discussion forums. Book 1-on-1 help sessions. Email instructors. We're here to help you succeed.

Accommodations & Accessibility

During enrollment, you can (optionally) tell us about any learning accommodations that would help you. This could include:

  • Extended time on assessments
  • Alternative formats (audio, large print, etc.)
  • Flexible deadlines for project submissions
  • Reduced sensory input (minimal animations, simple layouts)
  • Executive function support (task breakdowns, reminders)

We don't require documentation or formal diagnoses. Just tell us what would help, and we'll make it happen.

Step 4

Get Certified

Once you've proven competency in all required areas, you receive your certification or degree. No arbitrary timelines. No "you must wait until graduation ceremony."

Common Questions

How long does it take to complete a course?

It depends on the course and your pace. Healthcare certifications (BLS, First Aid) take 4-8 hours. Industry certifications (CompTIA, Medical Assistant) take 8-16 weeks on average. Associate degrees take 18-24 months. But remember: you advance by proving competency, not by seat time. Some students finish faster, some take longer.

Can I work while taking courses?

Absolutely. Most of our students work full-time. Courses are self-paced and available 24/7. Learn early morning, late evening, or weekends—whatever works for your schedule.

What if I need accommodations for ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent conditions?

We're built for neurodivergent learners. During enrollment, you can tell us what accommodations would help (extended time, flexible deadlines, alternative formats, etc.). No documentation required. Just tell us what you need, and we'll make it happen.

How do Income Share Agreements (ISAs) work?

With an ISA, you pay $0 upfront. After completing the program and getting hired making at least $40K/year, you pay 10% of your gross income for up to 48 months, with a maximum total of 1.5x tuition. If you don't get hired above the threshold, you don't pay. We succeed when you succeed.

Are your certifications and degrees recognized by employers?

Yes. Our healthcare certifications are accredited by AHA, HSI, and ECSI—recognized nationwide. Industry certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, etc.) are vendor-issued and universally accepted. Our degree programs (coming 2026+) will be accredited by DEAC, then WASC for regional accreditation.

What if I start a course and realize it's not for me?

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all courses. If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days, we'll refund your payment in full. For ISAs, you can withdraw within 14 days with no obligation.
